Tonight, we are proud to announce the hiring of two new head coaches at Pea Ridge—both familiar faces who have already made a lasting impact on our school community and are now stepping into new leadership roles.

Max Hotelling has been named Head Football Coach. Max brings 10 years of coaching experience, including time as a defensive coordinator at Pea Ridge and Huntsville, as well as experience at Missouri Southern University. He is a graduate of Rogers Heritage High School and Central Methodist University. Max and his wife, Haley, have been married for five years and are proud parents to their 9-month-old son, Tate. We are excited to see Max continue to grow our football program in this new role.

Reed Smith will serve as Head Girls Basketball Coach. Coach Smith is entering his 11th year in coaching, with eight of those years dedicated to Pea Ridge. He is a graduate of Oklahoma State University and the University of Arkansas, holding degrees in Food Science and Kinesiology. Reed and his wife, Jamie, are proud dog parents and active members of the Pea Ridge community. We are confident in his leadership as he takes the reins of our girls' basketball program.

We are excited for the future of both programs under their leadership. Congratulations, Coach Hotelling and Coach Smith!

🏗️✨ At the end of April, we had the opportunity to celebrate our students involved in the ACE Mentorship program at a special banquet!

Each student was recognized for their dedication and awarded a $500 check for their participation—an incredible accomplishment! 👏💰

ACE (Architecture, Construction, Engineering) connects students with industry professionals for hands-on, project-based learning. Throughout the year, students met twice a month after school to design a potential visitor center for Pea Ridge Military Park, developing plans that included location, building design, materials, and cost. Students then presented their work to a room full of industry professionals during the banquet. 🏛️📐

This year, Pea Ridge High School was honored to be selected as a pilot school for the ACE program in Arkansas, part of a growing nationwide initiative. We’re excited to continue this partnership next year! 🙌

📣 Interested in joining?
Any PRHS student interested in architecture, construction, or engineering is encouraged to get involved. Scholarships and monetary opportunities may be available!

📧 Contact Mr. Fingerhut: Colby.fingerhut@pearidgek12.com
📍 Or stop by and see him in the Quad

We are proud of these students for building skills and creating what’s next! 💪

Today, we had the honor of recognizing some of our seniors who are preparing to serve our country.

Beth Hickman from Home for Dinner visited Pea Ridge High School and generously gifted $500 to each senior entering the military to support them as they begin this next chapter. 💙

Home for Dinner’s mission is to honor and assist hometown military veterans through programs such as restaurant partner gift cards, holiday food baskets, college veteran support, and local scholarships—and today, our students were the recipients of that generosity. 🙌

Please join us in congratulating:
🎖️ Aiden Melchor – Marines
🎖️ James Easter – Marines
⚓ Quinton Nesbitt – Navy

Thank you to these students for their commitment to serve, and thank you to Home for Dinner for supporting them in such a meaningful way.

May is National Speech-Language-Hearing Month—a time to show appreciation to the amazing professionals who help students effectively communicate and eat safely in schools across the country.

Our PRSD SLPs have a combined 50 years of experience. They serve our students across all 5 buildings in the areas of sound production, using and understanding language, social interactions, using alternative communication, fluency, voice, and feeding.

We appreciate all that you do to help our students! 👏❤️
