Forms are due Friday for the upcoming Flu Shot Clinic on October 10th! Vaccinations are provided at no cost.

Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our Homecoming activities today were a great success. It’s a great day to be a Blackhawk!
I know many of you have been asking about the new state requirement for community service hours for 9th graders. I am sending a separate additional email home today to 9th grade families only with information on our district’s plan. Your 9th grade students will also receive information and a permission slip in classes next week.
Our FREE after-school tutoring program called “Under Construction” begins the first week of October. All students are invited to come as needed on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in the library. Certified teachers are available from 3:30 - 4:30 to help any of our students with their academic needs. I highly recommend taking advantage of this opportunity! No sign up is required.
Our Picture Day is this Wednesday! We sent picture forms home last week; there will be an online purchasing option available as well.
We are in need of some gently used artificial Christmas trees for a House activity our students are participating in for December. If you have extra trees you would like to donate, please contact Sarah Msall, our counselor: smsall@pearidgek12.com.
Here are some upcoming October events to put on your calendars:
Flu Shot Clinic is October 10 (forms went home early this week)
Last day of the 1st Quarter is October 13
No School - October 20 & 23

If you are unsure how to access HAC from home, either ask your child to login to show you their grades, or contact our registrar, Michelle Nesbitt for login assistance: mnesbitt@pearidgek12.com.

Friday, September 29 is Homecoming Activity Day for the junior high! We have an exciting day planned for our students, which includes field day activities, kickball tournament, Navy football game, face painting, parade, and so much more. Please be sure to send your child to school with plenty of sunscreen and water; concessions will be available for purchase.
Here is a message from our School Resource Officer, Rick Helmer:
Over the last 20 years, we have seen the explosion of social media in our society. We are able to keep up with our cousins in other parts of the country and stay in touch with friends from college. Our children have grown up with social media and it is a huge influence in their lives. I encourage you to talk with your children about social media safety. I encourage you to regularly check their social media accounts. Find out who they are talking to and what they are talking about. Social media has many benefits; however, there are many dangers as well. The more you know about their social media, the safer they are. If you have questions about social media safety or anything else, feel free to contact me through the school.
