Dear Parents and Guardians,
Our beginning of year NWEA MAP growth testing is coming up! Students will take their math and reading tests in their math and English classes on September 12 and 13. Please be sure students are well rested for these tests, and that they come to school prepared with a fully charged chromebook. These tests give us a great indication of how students are progressing, and how to best meet their needs.
If you have not yet completed the free and reduced lunch forms, please click on this link to do so: https://frapps.horizonsolana.c....
We would also love for you to complete this PRJH parent survey. This helps us gather data for an upcoming job shadowing project and gives you the opportunity to indicate how you would like to help our building this year: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfYaDxMitvCieI4s65VVIOEdO_q6urBU1GuqJ0zj4Mqs3BQhg/viewform
Here is a message from our School Resource Officer, Rick Helmer:
Many of us spend our days talking to other people. As parents, we spend a lot of time talking to our kids; we tell them, “Get up,” or “Brush your teeth,” or “Quit arguing with your sibling.” But how often do we talk WITH our children? Particularly in these years when they are facing new social and academic challenges, it’s important to connect with our children. I encourage you to take time to have conversations with your children. Talk about difficult topics like bullying, vaping, drugs, and peer pressure. They may not act like they’re listening, but they are. If you need help with these topics or any others, please reach out to me through the school.
Enjoy your holiday weekend!
