PRJH Parent News

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to the new school year! We have had a wonderful week as we have brought in a new group of students and staff. We kicked off our Monday with a Pep Rally and built excitement for the new year. We also have spent quite a bit of time this week on school procedures and expectations. Next week, we will really begin working toward our learning targets, so you can expect your child to begin talking about class content and assignments!

There are many ways in which we will communicate with you this year. You can expect a message every Friday regarding what is going on here at PRJH. You can also join our Facebook page and check our PRJH

Website frequently. Our district also has a new PRSD app, which makes information readily available!

We have checked out chromebooks and chargers to students. If your child did not receive one, that is because we have yet to receive the signed chromebook agreement form. Please be sure to provide that as quickly as possible next week! We also ask that you encourage your child to charge their chromebook every night, so that they are fully charged for the next school day.

If your child has any medications that need to be given at school, please pick up a form from our front office, then return with the medication.

All registration forms need to be completed and turned in by August 28th. In order to best serve your child, it is very important that we receive these as soon as possible.

This is a friendly reminder that if your child is absent, we need to be notified within 5 days of the reason for that absence. You can simply send a note along with your child, or call our front office: 479-451-1916.

Next week, you will receive an email from our technology department about your specific HAC login. The HAC system allows you to see your child’s grades and attendance at all times. I highly recommend you check this information frequently.

You may have been hearing about our House system! This system is designed to facilitate connection and camaraderie amongst our students and staff. Students will meet with their houses and compete in various events throughout the year. In May, we will announce the House Champion of 2023-2024.

I’d also like to share a message from our SRO, Rick Helmer: Hi, I'm Rick Helmer and I'm the school resource officer at the Junior High.  I have been in law enforcement since 2003 and this is my fourth year as an SRO.  This is my dream job in law enforcement.  My favorite part of my job is getting to build relationships with the students in my school.  My first priority is keeping everyone at the Junior High safe.  I can provide many resources and I'm glad to help with any need you may have.  Feel free to call the school or email me at rhelmer@pearidgek12.com.  I'm excited about this year and seeing our students grow.”

Finally, thank you for sharing your child with us. We truly enjoy working with your child, and we look forward to getting to know all of our students better so we can best provide for their needs. Our mission statement is Success Today, Prepare for Tomorrow, and we take pride in working together for that goal!

Enjoy your weekend!
