Pea Ridge School District will soon be launching SMART tag™, which will change how students ride the bus. These exciting changes will improve student safety and security while riding the bus. SMART tag™ is a student ridership authorization solution that, simply put, ensures your child gets on the right bus and gets off at the right stop.
How it Works
Each student will be issued a SMART tag™ card. They will scan this card on a card reader when they get on the bus and when they get off. SMART tag™ will authorize the student, or alert the driver through the onboard tablet computer if:
• A student attempts to get on a bus that does not go to their school
• A student attempts to get on a bus that does not go to their school • A student attempts to get off at a stop that is not their assigned stop
Student expectation for badging on/off the bus - Students will need to badge on/off and all students will receive a badge.
- Important to note that these badges do not "track" students; they are only to let us know who is on the bus and who has gotten off.
Students' replacement badges are free until Oct 1, and then replacements will cost $1 and can be received at each student's school.
