September 9, 2020

Dear Pea Ridge Families and Community,

On September 8, 2020, a positive COVID-19 test was reported at Pea Ridge Middle School. We
pivoted seamlessly to remote learning for 1-day beginning Wednesday, September 9, 2020, for deep
cleaning and contact tracing of grades 5 and 6. The district has contacted families of students
considered probable close contacts and directed them to quarantine. If a family has not been
contacted, their child is not considered a probable close contact and can return to school tomorrow,
September 10, 2020.
As of September 9, 2020, 39 middle school students were identified as probable close contacts who
will continue with remote learning and will return to face-to-face instruction on Monday, September
21, 2020. Due to careful planning throughout the summer and working alongside the Arkansas
Department of Health as well as the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education,
we have a concise plan for these situations. Details regarding the Ready for Learning Plan can be
found on the district website’s http://pearidgek12.com located under the State Required Information
tab.
