District Wide

As a reminder, Monday, January 18, will be a remote learning day. Thank you parents for your flexibility on these days required by the state to meet the standards of education for this academic calendar. The schedules for High School and Junior High students are detailed in the HS and JHS sections below. You can also find the full 2020-2021 academic calendar here.

Families, please continue to report positive COVID cases of children in the district. By remaining diligent over the break, we can decline the need to go virtual for entire buildings and grade levels and most importantly, we can ensure better safety for our students and staff. Cases can be reported HERE. Below are our current quarantine guidelines as recommended by the Arkansas Department of Health:

  • Please remember, if you choose to have your student tested and they are able to return on the 8th day with a negative test result, please send a copy of the negative result to the school.  This can be sent with your student or via email.
Quarantine can end after Day 10 (i.e. Return on Day 11) without testing and if no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring.
  • Quarantine can end after Day 7 (i.e. Return on Day 8) if a close contact tests negative (“send-off” PCR preferred but rapid acceptable) and if no symptoms were reported during daily monitoring. The specimen may be collected no sooner than a full 5 days after exposure, but quarantine cannot be discontinued earlier than after Day 7. Must bring a copy of the negative test upon return to school.
  •  If at any time someone in quarantine as a close contact develops symptoms of COVID-19, they should immediately isolate and get tested for COVID-19 (even if they previously had a negative test during this quarantine).
  • We emphasize that the above two options only apply to those who have no symptoms.

October is International School Library Month. This past October some of the PRJH art students were paired with a school in Croatia for a bookmark exchange program. Our bookmarks from Croatia arrived after the holidays. They included some Croatian cookies in the package we received so we sent them some Little Debbie snacks in return along with the bookmarks the students made. I’ve included pictures of the ones received and the ones sent.
