Director of Workforce Development for Northwest Arkansas Council
In his work at the Northwest Arkansas Council, Joe Rollins has the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives.
Rollins serves as a liaison between students, educators, post-secondary institutions, and business leaders. He works to develop and strengthen the region’s education programs so that students get needed training for area jobs and employers to have a skilled workforce. Joe works with educators and businesses to develop and strengthen NWA’s career and technical education programs. He connects colleges, technical schools, and high school training programs with potential employers and facilitates, meeting their workforce needs.
Born in Springdale, Rollins comes from a long line of educators. He graduated with a business education degree in 2004, earned a master’s in educational administration in 2006, and a doctorate in 2018, all from the University of Arkansas. Additionally, he holds an educational specialist degree from Harding University.
Rollins started out teaching in Springdale schools in 2004, became Springdale High School’s assistant principal in 2010, District Career and Technical Education Director in 2011, and in 2015 brought forward the vision for and became the founding principal of Don Tyson School of Innovation.
Director, Workforce, Education and Data Transformation, Office of Governor Asa Hutchinson
Mr. Neal recently joined Governor Asa Hutchinson’s staff. As Director of Workforce, Education and Data Transformation, he coordinates the Arkansas Ready for Life initiative, a program to connect employees and employers.
Rick previously served as Education to Employee Director for the Arkansas State Chamber of Commerce where he was responsible for engaging state business and industry partners and communicating their workforce needs to education leaders in Arkansas, while creating a seamless transition between high school and post-secondary education and the workforce.
Rick earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education from the University of Arkansas, and a Master’s Degree and a Specialist Degree from the University of Arkansas. He began his career as a social studies teacher and basketball coach at Siloam Springs Junior High School. He was also the middle school principal of Berryville Middle School in the Berryville School District. He has also served the Pea Ridge School District in a multitude of positions for many years, beginning with his seven-year service as the high school principal. He also served as superintendent of the Pea Ridge School District and has worked in public education for the past 36 years.
He is passionate about preparing students to enter the global workforce through the integration of technology, real-world STEM learning, and linking to today’s college/career workforce.
Director in Operations Support, Walmart
Bill Meeker has been working with Walmart for 35 years. He started as an hourly associate and has since had various management positions, including Asset Protection, Store Operations, Logistics, and Financial Services. Meeker currently serves as a Director in Operations Support with direct responsibilities in supporting the business, product, compliance, and legal teams. He oversees the delivery of financial products and the development process and training materials for front-end store operations.
